Empathy Workshop

Client

Kentish Town Improvement Fund

Brief

To engage participants in the idea of empathy through creating images and making hand made books.

Delivery

In the first part of the session participants identified someone that they are close to and love. They then went out and made photographs with this person in mind, thinking of the things they would love to photograph. As an example one participant made photographs from their niece’s perspective: low to the ground, finding bright colours.

In the latter part of the session we printed these images and used other art materials, learning how to saddle stitch books and creating artwork from the photos directly into the books.

Participants made books for their family, friends and loved ones.
